Dale Earnhardt Jr

Ralph Dale Earnhardt Jr. born on October 10th, 1974 in Kannapolis, North Carolina, is a champion race car driver. The son of legendary Dale Earnhardt Sr. [1951-2001], Dale made his professional debut at the age of seventeen in race car driving and has since successfully participated in a number of racing classes and events.

He is twice the winner of Busch Series championship with 21 wins winning consecutively in 1998 and 1999 over Matt Kenseth, and thus became one among the six people to win back-to-back championships. He also won Daytona 500 in 2004. As of 2007, Dale is the driver of the #8 Budweiser Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS/Impala SS in NASCAR's NEXTEL Cup.

Having decided to run for another team in 2008, Dale Earnhardt Jr. has on May 10, 2007 announced that he would leave Dale Earnhardt Inc. a race team and merchandising company founded by his father. The business savvy Dale Jr. is also the proud owner of JR Motorsports; and along with his stepmother, Teresa Earnhardt, he once co-owned Chance 2 Motorsports, which won two championships with driver Martin Truex Jr. in 2004 and 2005. At present the Chance 2 is no longer active.
